Spring in Tucson pics

Spring flowers in our yard in Tucson (taken today in the wind -- wind and macro lens, bad combination!)

Pretty pink mystery flower

Ruellia

Fairy duster (I think)

Mystery yellow bush (2 pics) --below

Bee bush (Aloysia?) -- above

Creosote-- below

Madly-blooming aloe

Damn it's hard to get the labels where you want them!

Beautiful! It is really neat to see what spring in the desert looks like!

The top pink one looks like a pentesmon.

Definitely some scroph. Besides Penstemon, there's also the genus Scrophularia.

Or maybe a mimulus (http://www.stauder.net/bildearkiv/Mimulus%20lewisii%205.jpg) but that's just because the other members of the family get overlooked. I'd put money on penstemon.

I think you guys are right. The plant looks a lot like Penstemon fendleri http://museum.utep.edu/chih/gardens/plants/NtoQ/penstemonfendleri.htm
