Diploma Incineration

Just so everyone knows, KU burns unclaimed diplomas not that long after they are issued. Don't wait almost two years after graduation to pop in and ask for it.
I know this from experience.

Ack, they incinerated your diploma? Can they print a replacement?

Oh no! That sucks. I carried mine back post-hooding and got one of those really big frames to hold it since the diploma is HUGE.

That is pretty disappointing.
The incineration of older diplomas seems like far more trouble than the storage of older diplomas. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess that they will charge you for a reprinting of the diploma.

One can, in fact, order a replacement diploma. I haven't figured out how much it costs yet, because one can only pay for it through enroll and pay, and one can only use enroll and pay if one has an active KU account, which I don't. The kid (yes, 19 year olds count as kids) explaining this was super-nice about it and found me the phone number of the IT people to call to get an enroll and pay account, but I was only in Lawrence for half an hour longer at that point, so I went and bought my first KU T-shirt instead.

Isn't it funny that after you leave, KU stuff becomes more important (i.e., diplomas and t-shirts). I have even been thinking I would like to have a picture taken with baby jay to take with me! I hope you figure out how to get your diploma. Let me know if you want me to order it for you on my account (if that's even possible).

Yikes,
I realized the other day that I have not picked up my diploma. Hmmmm. This could be a problem.
Thanks for the heads up SS!
