Okay, geeky friends, you forced me to it: mean of the first five talks 5.9 minutes, median 6.5 minutes, mode 2.5 minutes. Number with the specified time limit: 1. Standard deviation 3.34 minutes. Thus, if this sample represents a normal distribution of 5-7 minute talks, yes, they were all within the 95% CI. I'm really hoping that today's talks will narrow the CI significantly.
Gorgeous Biologist Knitters--may I join you all on this diaspora even if I only qualify for the "knitters" part being neither gorgeous or a biologist? : ) Also, how the heck would I--I'm blog-deficient. Send me an email through the Facebook if I can play.
Juli- Of course you can be a Gorgeous Biologist Knitter Blogger- if you e-mail me at the my name the plant nerd hot mail account with whatever e-mail you use, I'll hook you up (I'm still not on facebook).

are you sure? Because it seemed like it was kinda close
But is it within the 95% CI?
Sounds like your student talks were fun.

Today's talks: ranged from 4 to 8, with 2 being between 5 and 7 (and 2 others being 4-5) so the CI is dramatically down, thank goodness.
