Back in Blonde

So, over a year ago, I admitted my vanity and desire to have blond hair, although it was darkening and there was nothing I was willing to do about it.

I have no idea exactly how I pulled it off (I didn't dye it and I didn't do field work this summer), but I am back as a blonde for a while.
I'm embarrassed by how happy this makes me, but it does.

Don't be embarrassed! It looks lovely.

Vanity is perhaps another word for "caring what other people think of us" which is longhand for "human".

Consider that by being smart and blonde and proud of it, you are doing your part to combat negative stereotypes about the intellectual abilities of blondes everywhere. See, spun the right way, it's not silly, it's humanitarian!

I agree with Irene. I might view it as an adventure and maybe even an experiment....not vanity!

"Adventure and experiment" sound much more exciting than not wearing a hat all summer and using butternut blonde shampoo. Except that all life is an experiment, I don't think that not doing anything and being excited by the results can really qualify as experiment. The vanity part comes in not in having this color of hair (which has been my hair color for most of my life, just not the last two years when) but being excited enough to take a photo and post it.
But I am happy about it, and very much your positive comments.
And Irene, I love the humanitarian slant.
