Way cool. I'm having a hard time determining what I think that my wand should be made out of?
I like the tough but flexible attributes of willow, but I'm really not the lithe sort of person one associates with willow. I love cottonwoods and aspen (and they also have salicyclic acid to ease headaches) but the wood is too porous in both cases. A ha- I know, I will take a ponderosa pine wand. Ponderosa are tough and remind me of home and they have the wonderful smell of vanilla or butterscotch. Indeed, a ponderosa wand for me.
